Aired first episode on June 1st, 2022. Unfortunately of the Housewives franchise, this one is known as the wealest housewives. This is the 11th city of production and it is currently rated at 3.8/10 on IMDb. Right now there is no talk currently scheduled to renew the Dubai housewives contract due to low audience views.
Let's get started in the City of gold known as Dubai
Housewives of Dubai cast- Nina Ali, Chanel Ayan, Caroline Brooks, Sara Al Madani, Lesa Milan, Caroline Stanbury
The show begins and we see how far Dubai has come since 1966.
After showing the initial characters and giving a brief description of them, the show goes to their tag lines then kicks off with Ayan. She is in the desert at a photo shoot when it cuts to her in an in interview where she basically said she’s a “bad a** bi***” in 4 languages and snaps her fingers. Right off the bat, she is not coming off as confident, but as extremely cocky. She introduced herself as the first black supermodel in Dubai. In doing a quick google search to check the facts about that statement, since the show aired, the only pages I found were of her and how she was the first. This is by far a great accomplishment. Being the first at anything anymore I give a kudos to…. Well, maybe not anything. But she is definitely headstrong and her accent is just lovely to listen to. But so far the cockiness is just turning me away from her character. Although in this scene there is a part that the camel tries to take her spotlight. He totally stole it LoL but her saying “camel” was hilarious.
Next scene shoots to Caroline Stanbury(aka Stanbury) and her dog peeing on the bed as well as showing her hot, young fiancé coming in the room in a towel 🫣 she at the time was 43 and he was 27. I don’t know about you, but I just feel like it’s more crazy for the women to be older than the guy… only because guys mindsets are so much younger than women. But who am I to talk honestly, my husband is almost 2 years younger than me….but certainly less mature than I. So there’s that. Caroline then starts talking about the wedding and why they can’t actually get married in Dubai. Having to do with religious backgrounds forced them to have to marry outside.
Now we meet Lesa. She is swimming with her kids in the pool and since it’s utterly hot outside, she actually ordered ice to be dumped in the pool… that’s some serious money to burn. Then they get out (After she just paid to ice the pool) to roast marshmallows. Lesa owns her business “Mina Roe” that focuses mainly on fashion for pregnant women.
Next we meet Caroline Brooks (aka Brooks). She also starts the show w her son in the pool while she lounges i her comfy chair. She talks about how she walked away from her marriage with nothing as long as she has her son. She does real estate and has aspirations of opening a luxury spa. She talks of how if she can go from Boston to Dubai and build the empire she is building that she deserves a spot in Guinness book of world records…. Haha ok. In fact checking that, I don’t think she’s the first to do all that, but I wasn’t able to come up with facts to dispute.
We then shoot to Ayan and Lesa having lunch. Lesa ends up telling Ayan that she isn’t able to go to Hermes (fashion party) because that’s Caroline Stanbury’s bachelorette party. Ayan seems a little annoyed at that but told Lesa that she thinks Sergio and Stanbury have a contract relationship. She also goes to say she got a phone call from Brooks saying that Stanbury is only inviting important people to her wedding. Ayan shoots to her interview saying that she’s “Amazing” and can’t understand why Stanbury don’t like her. Brooks ends up calling Lesa during their lunch. Lesa puts it on speaker in front of Ayan. Brooks tells Lesa that she heard Ayan wasn’t invited to Stanbury's hen party and kinda made jokes about it. Lesa called it when she called her messy at that time.
After the break, it’s the day of Stanbury’s hen party which is British for bachelorette party. Bachelor is known as stag. Stanbury has the party on a small yacht. I say small but gosh it’s still a nice size boat that I would love to party on. Everyone seems to be getting along until Nina brings up Ayan not being on the boat. Nina states that everyone will be coming to her dinner party and the fakeness coming from Brooks was just hard to miss. As the night time comes, the games start w putting the hotdog in a bottle? Then stick in a hole comes out. Shots. Just a fun and drama free party.
Break ends and we are at the part with Nina and Sara with the kids. We now learn about Sara. She is a “rebel” Muslim and she tells us about her divorce and kids. In my opinion, I really like Sara so far because she does things her way and is not concerned what people think. She comes off as confident which I can respect.
As the show moves toward the end, Nina’s dinner starts off with her using sage around the table in hopes of ridding the are of negativity. One by one the girls then start to arrive. When everyone comes to dinner, Ayan is just all into herself saying how good looking she is. Light chatter about stripper names and pole exercising starts the conversations. Then the conversation moves to the hen party and Ayan claps at the fact she wasn’t apart of the event so the girls shouldn’t talk about it. Ayan states they should talk about things that are more interesting so she can be apart of the conversation. Obviously some of the girls don’t take well to this and that is how the back and fourth between Brooks and Ayan start. Ayan calls out Brooks for calling her at 7:30 am to tell her she wasn’t invited to Stanbury’s hen party because she wasn’t important. Brooks stated that’s not what she said and clarified the misunderstanding. The back and fourth caused Nina to break up the banter. The season one, episode one ends on that note.
-Ayan is starting off as the unpopular one in my opinion. She has her arrogance and cockiness that unfortunately make her look bad. She’s a very interesting character for sure, but could use a reality check as far as she’s not the only fabulous woman in Dubai.
-Brooks comes off as messy early on due to her calling Lesa to spread the gossip of Ayan not going to Stanbury’s hen party. I think that her telling Ayan that she wasn’t important was a misunderstanding (or Ayan just wanting it to look like Brooks was starting drama).
-Stanbury is at the point in her life where she is happy and knows to keep certain people away because it’s her bubble and ain’t no one popping it.
-Nina is the one trying to bring the group together and Sara is our rebel girl that so far is my favorite.
